CrossFit Level 1 Certification
An avid athlete growing up, I participated in various sports, including soccer, wrestling, track, wakeboarding, skateboarding, and snowboarding. I live in Roanoke with my wife, Kaitlyn (a fellow CrossFit athlete), and our two young children, Brayden and Teagan (CrossFit athletes-to-be). In addition to CrossFit, I enjoy all things Jeep and spending time on Smith Mountain Lake.
At the beginning of 2023, I was stuck in a fitness rut. I had stopped engaging in regular fitness activities, and I was reminded of the same every time I looked in the mirror. I decided that enough was enough, and settled on my New Year’s resolution: get back into shape. I discovered CrossFit on a whim. I was intrigued by the idea of constantly varied workouts that incorporated elements of weightlifting, gymnastics, and cardiovascular conditioning. After my first CrossFit workout, I was immediately hooked. Fast forward to a year later, and I found myself completely transformed. I was truly grateful for everything CrossFit had given me: mental and physical strength, a sense of community, a competitive outlet, and a list of benchmarks to constantly strive to improve. I desired to study the techniques and methodologies that would assist me in continuing on this trajectory, and I sought to help others find this same sense of accomplishment. Completing the CrossFit Level 1 Certification course was an endeavor undertaken with the intent to satisfy both of these objectives simultaneously, and I look forward to sharing what I’ve learned with anyone willing to listen.
My motivation and passion stem from a deep-seated desire to inspire and empower others to achieve their fitness goals and lead healthier, more fulfilling lives. Coaching provides me with an opportunity to constantly learn and grow as both a coach and an athlete. I am constantly seeking ways to improve and evolve in order to better serve our members.
